The tour, includes an hour of snowmobiling. This tour is great for those with a taste for snow and want to see a quieter, pristine side of Iceland a bit father away from the popular tourist sites.
You tour will begin from Gullfoss Café locate just a few kilometres away from the waterfall.
From there, the group will head towards the base camp Langjökull glacier, where you will be briefed on how to safely operate the snowmobiles. You’ll also gear up into overalls, gloves, and protective helmets that will keep you warm and safe throughout your journey. Once you’re ready, you’ll take off two to a snowmobile onto your snowy adventure!
The hour long tour of the glacier is full of breathtaking views of the Icelandic landscape and unique glacial features. Rimmed by massive volcanoes and with several massive craters sheathed in ice buried beneath its surface, this particular glacier, Iceland’s second largest, spectacularly demonstrates the significance of volcanic activity on the country’s topography. The panoramas are equally impressive, and from the glacier’s flanks you can see the steep Eiríksjökull glacier, the highest mountain in west Iceland and the dome shaped Hofsjökull glacier tucked in the middle of the highlands along with the Kerlingafjöll Mountain range.
Once you tour is done, you’ll return by the early evening back to Reykjavik.
