    Itinerary

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavik in a coach and taken to the small village of Fludir, your first destination in the Secret Lagoon and Northern Lights Tour.

At Fludir, you will visit the Secret Lagoon which is fed by mineral-rich geothermal water from nearby hot springs at a temperature of 38 to 40 degrees Celsius. Enjoy a hot water bath in the steamy blue lagoon and experience the geothermal baths that are unique to Iceland. The lagoon is surrounded by boardwalks and footpaths, allowing to explore the small hot springs and geothermal features in full. The Secret Lagoon is equipped with neat locker rooms, clean showers and changing facilities.

Enjoy a soothing dip even when it’s freezing outside. The picturesque surroundings and the steam rising in the air gives the Secret Lagoon a surreal feel. There are several geothermal spots nearby and a little Geysir which erupts every 5 minutes. During the winter season, the Northern Lights often give a great light show above. Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience of relaxing in the warm water and watching a lightshow above!

After a refreshing bath at the Secret Lagoon, continue your tour to Restaurant Grund for a scrumptious buffet style dinner. Sample authentic Icelandic cuisine as a variety of local food is offered to you.

You will head back to Reykjavik after dinner and go straight to the spot from where you will begin your hunt for the elusive Northern Lights. Your guide will take you to selected viewing spots where the chances of the amazing light show are high. Your guide will also reveal the science behind this spectacular natural phenomenon and explain the best conditions in which to view it.

If conditions are right, you may be lucky enough to witness the awesome spectacle of auroras swirling across the sky in vivid colours and dramatic patterns.

At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back to your accommodation.

    • Enjoyed the smaller lagoon. It felt less commercial.
Dinner was great with plenty food for everyone.
Our driver was great at pulling off the road whenever the northern lights showed and we saw beautiful displays even with an almost full moon.

    • With all northern lights tours there are no guarantees - we had a perfectly clear night but still no show. However as this tour includes a three course meal and a visit to the secret lagoon you still get to experience a lot. The secret lagoon although much more basic than the blue lagoon was really nice and far less touristy. The three course meal was lovely - homemade mushroom soup, leg of lamb and warm chocolate cake. I was stuffed. Our driver drove round lots trying to find the northern lights but had warned us there was only a small chance they would show on our night. A great tour to experience some authentic Iceland.

    • Super trip - loved the lagoon - peaceful and relaxing. Great meal - trying all the delicacies. Only dons ide was the weather - even though our guide tried hard with our northern lights hunt we were not in luck.
      Have recommended trip to others.
