  • Overview

A real treat for fans of the hit epic show Game of Thrones comes alive on this comprehensive tour through filming locations in Iceland. Embark on an amazing journey through stunning scenery in southern Iceland and unfurl the hidden, secret and beautiful gems of Iceland as seen on Game of Thrones.

Feel like a Baratheon as you meet Icelandic horses at Laxnes horse farm where you learn that these horses also strode on the show! Making you way to Thorufoss waterfall on Laxa i Kjos River, you learn that this beautiful location filmed the famous scene where one of Daenerys Targaryens’ dragons attacked the local goat in “Mereen”.

To truly feel chilled to the bone, walk in the footsteps on the White Walkers as you tour Thingvellir National Park, set for many scenes in Game of Thrones featuring the White Walkers. We will have a walk in a gorge in Thingvellir, where the European and the North American tectonic plates are drifting apart. If you’ve always wanted to stand on two continents at once, now is your chance! We will also visit Almannagjá gorge in Thingvellir, which was used to film scenes depicting the Bloody gate of the Eyrie and Hengilssvaedid mountain, the filming location of the fighting scene between The Hound and Brienne of Tarth.

The journey will continue to Stöng – the medieval Viking houses. Here you can relive the scene where a quiet farming village, south of the wall, was attacked by Wildlings and the Thenns – Ollys in Games of Thrones. Further down the road, you will be able to experience the fantastic, second highest waterfall in Iceland: Haifoss and the mysterious Hjalparfoss surrounded by several stoned Trolls. Before returning to Reykjavik we will make the last stop at the Secret Lagoon where you will be able to relax in a geothermal hot pool.
